Hi phanikpk,

Permutation, combination and probability questions represent a smaller group of questions relative to the larger categories (DS, Algebra, Arithmetic, Number Properties, Math Formulas). While it's important to have a thorough grasp of all of the material, there should be a priority system in place. How have you been performing on the BIG Quant categories?

To that end, what resources have you been using to study?

Have you taken any full-length practice CATs yet? If you have, then what have your scores been?

Ya I have taken full length CATs and my score range is 40-45 and I am consistently under performing in permutations, combinations section. I have undertaken MGMAT course fully.
Within one month my GMAT exam is there.
So, please help in this regard.

A few suggestions:

- it's important to realize that A LOT of probability questions can be solved using either probability rules or counting techniques.
- the majority of counting questions on the GMAT can be solved using the Fundamental Counting Principle (FCP). For more information about the FCP, watch our free video: https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gmat-counting?id=775

To help you focus on one topic at a time, you can use BTG's tagging feature.
Here are all of the questions tagged as probability questions: https://www.beatthegmat.com/forums/tags/ ... robability
Here are all of the questions tagged as counting questions: https://www.beatthegmat.com/forums/tags/ ... mbinations
See the left side of that linked page for more tag options.

I also suggest that you spend a lot of time reviewing the responses from the Experts on this site, since they often model the steps you should be taking when answering questions. You will also see that there are often many different ways to solve probability and counting questions.

Cheers,
Brent
