Hi,
I am planning to get into ISB, may be after 3-4 years. My academics X:78%, XII : 95%, Engg : 65% and MBA: 3.2/4. I have 3.5 years of experience right now and it will 6-7 yrs by the time I join ISB. I am sure I will get 700+ in GMAT.
I was the co-founder of a start-up and currently I am working as a Business Analyst in a marketing research firm.
I am learning Chinese
I worked as vice president of Indian Student Association at Clemson University
Table Tennis champion during college
My question is what else do I need to have in my resume to get into ISB? I am sure many people getting into ISB have better acads and better work experience compared to that of mine. I want to get an edge over them and get into ISB. What should I do?
Thanks
Neelakantha

Hi Varun,
Kanpur!!! Manchester of INDIA?
Well there are no set criteria of getting admitted in any b-school. ISB has even accepted 630 GMAT & also rejected 740 GMAT. The selection in b-school mostly depends on how well you position yourself in application essays and demonstrates professional achievements during final interviews. To know more about ISB interview tips & preparations click https://bit.ly/XQVp4s
Having said this, you need to have a certain GMAT score between 660-720, if you are planning to apply in ISB. You can also try your chances in b-schools by clicking https://www.general-ed.com/chances-of-bschool
Feel free to post any other concerns you might have.
Best,
Yash

Hi Ashg84,
With 7 yrs. of work experience, you are in a perfect stage of your career, which most of the b-schools look for. Chances in b-schools depend a lot on your application essays and interviews. I believe targeting Ross should be fine. You can also try your chances in b-schools by clicking https://www.general-ed.com/chances-of-bschool .
As I mentioned above, application essays play an important part in b-school application process. Similarly, you need to work on your b-school interviews, so as to convert your chances of application to admission. To know more about interview preparations & tips, visit https://bit.ly/XQVp4s
Let me know in case of any other concern you might have. You can also PM your number to have a detail discussion on your profile and b-school selection.

Hi Vaibhav,
Just for your information, the weightage given to GMAT in ISB is not more than 15% of the entire b-school application process. Yes, you need to have a certain score between 650-720, if you are targeting ISB 2014 intake. You can even try your chances in b-schools by clicking https://www.general-ed.com/chances-of-bschool . An avg. GMAT can surely be made up by submitting good essays and demonstrating professional achievements during final interviews. I wonder if this forum is still active. Nevertheless, i'd request you to evaluate my profile for the 2014 batch. My problem- I'm preparing for the GMAT. Though the present score i can expect is around 600- 630. Is it fine to wait and expect to get in with this score and profile or try somewhere else? ISB definitely is the first choice though.
