hehhe...no prabhu, if you apply this year Sep(2011) you will be able to attend the April 2012 intake.
there are 2 rounds to apply in. the exact dates for this year were:

Cycle 1: August 31 2010
Cycle 2: Nov 30 2010
so u can expect somethgn on the same lines for this year too.

Guys I am meeting a cousin of mine who scored a 770 and a 750 on retake because his prior score was rendered invalid after 5 years, this is the most ridiculous set of scores I have ever heard.

He was wit infosys, sap etc for 5-6 years before joining ISB in 2007-08.

Will bug him regarding ISB as well as gmat today.

Will post my findings, keep hitting this thread..
Cheers !!

Guys I learnt that this guy who got a 770 and 750 studied for 6 months 2 hours a day for a 770 :/...i doubt many of us can match that,,anyways he did his his mba from IIM-A which I hear has broken into FT this year and gone straight over ISB by 2-3 positions.(it completed 5 years this time).
This guy has 10+ years of experience and he opted to join IIM-a instead of ISB, he had admits from both. Also ISB is better for people with 4-8 yrs exp as per him. Over 8 yrs u should go for IIM as placement support in ISB aint gooD for those.

Yesterday, I talked to another alumnus who passed out in 2006. He got an admit with a 700 and a 2.5 yrs ex. But he was from IIT and he has some international experience.

This guy told me that it should not be outlandishly difficult to get into ISB if u get a good score(720+) with over 4 years exp. Essays and other things of course matter.

Also FYI ISB mohali is coming up next year so the seat will go up from 500 to abt a 1000 for next session.

ISB also focusses on diversity and EC's like colleges abroad. IIM is not so keen in those stuff. So be sure to prepare ISB packet similar to one you would prepare to a college in US(I think most of us know this).
Cheers !!

ISB Mohali is still on the drawing board. Ive contacted the ISB admissions deptt regarding ISB mohali and they say that they are still yet to take a decision on ISB mohali for the 2012-2013 session. I had visited the ISB office at Chandigarh in early Jan and they had said that the construction of the building had not even started.

The final decision will taken by May, so lets keep our fingers crossed.
Also FYI ISB mohali is coming up next year so the seat will go up from 500 to abt a 1000 for next session.
Also the seats for the inaugural batch at ISB Mohali will be 210 so the total seats for both institutes should not exceed 750-800

Im also looking to get a seat in ISB mohali because Chandigarh is my hometown. B-)

One of my friend received a call from ISB with 680 GMAT & 3 years experience. What I heard from him, this is not a ignorable score if you can prove your profile. Just to remind, last year ISB rejected a 780 GMAT & 5yrs experienced guy.

I have GMAT scheduled at 9th April. Also I have 4 yrs experience in Corporate Finance with 1yr international experience. Hopefully a 700 can open the ISB door a bit for me :)

to add to the above, persoanlly knw someone wth 760 gmat and no interview call atleast from ISB. reason: poorly written essays.
reiterates the fact how imp easays are for ISB, i concur bblast's point here, ISB functions more like US B schools. other indian schools (1 yr mba's) dnt lay much stress on the essay and Ec's part, work ex, score,GD/PI wud matter more. I mean u can get a call for PI if u have decnet work ex and good score, and struggle frm there on.

this is what i have observed,

hey all , my rotman interview was chilled out,,,hoping to hear something positive,

I just learnt that the deadlines for R1 ISB have been announced for the year,
its 15th September, so its time to tighten our shoes.

as for people who wana know what ISB is looking for, answer is :
1>very high gmat score for indian pool and most other things like EC's and top notch comminication which most top US Bschools look for.

My friend who is the author of a maths book and had a superb profile got kicked out because he was not good at communication in english. So you never know on what factor your profile if awaiting a boot on the @ss from ISB. So dont keep it the only school in your list.
Cheers !!
