Hello everyone.
This looks like a fantastic thread to follow ISB 2013 PGP batch.

Even I am trying to get into ISB. I spoke with a lot of people and it looks tough for me this year. I have got a low GMAT score (690 -50, 35, 6) and a start up work ex in healthcare sector of little less than 3 yrs. I have decent reccos and co-circulars and that is one thing I am heavily banking on. Can anyone suggest me about my chances. What all can I bring out to strengthen my application?

BTW: I came across this Webinar which is happening on 17th August with the ISB Admissions Director, Ms. Hima Bindu and she will be answering questions from the audience https://www.gurome.com/info/isb_webinar2011.html
I got an opportunity to meet her and interact with her briefly in an event. Must say I was really impressed with her personality.

Good luck everyone
A

Hi rahul133,

All parameters you have mentioned are objective. If numbers were enough, essay were not asked and we wouldn't exist. :) Jokes apart, going by the numbers, you have an average profile. Interview invite will depend on your essays. It will depend on a lot of subjective factors: Have you cited enough examples to signal your leadership potential? Did you show clarity of career goals and a strong and valid reason for doing an MBA? Did you show a growth in your career? Are your career goals relevant and justified given your previous experience?

Hey all you ISB candidates! A couple different critiques for ISB essay 1 available on our blog:

https://essaysnark.blocked/2011/07/ ... say-1.html
https://essaysnark.blocked/2011/08/ ... at-is.html (just went up on Friday)

Nobody has submitted any other ISB essays to us for critique this season except for that first question - if you're brave enough for a public review (with all identifying info removed of course), then why not send your draft over? (it's free, no strings!)

And good luck - ISB is such an amazing school (we actually think more Americans should look into it, great ROI!)

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for R1 and have a doubt -

We have to mention our current manager details in current employment section.

Does ISB contact your current manager or is it for verification purposes only ?
and
what if you do not want your current manager to be contacted ?

Please suggest.

Thanks in Advance

Hi champ0007,

ISB, or for that matter any school, contacts only your references when required. In this particular case, it should be only for records. Do not worry about it.

You may wish to confirm the exact purpose of this field from ISB.

Can anyone please suggest reliable essay editing companies for ISB application. I reviewed Apex writers and Vibranture, and both had a reasonable price structure. Approx approx 6300 rupees for 2 edits.

Any experience with Apex writers or Vibranture, or please suggest any essay editing companies that you had worked with.

Regards.

Hi co_lor,

I would take this opportunity to introduce the ThinkAdmit team. We are a network of alumni from top B-schools who have come together to help applicants project the best possible application in front of the admissions committee. We are alumni from ISB, INSEAD, HEC, Stern and Kellogg and more are joining the team as we evolve.

We do not claim ourselves as an essay editing company. We are story-tellers who help you market yourself most effectively. We tell you how to sell the best of you, and how to mitigate your areas of improvement. We try not to touch the language used so that the tone of the essays will be your personal and learn an additional skill: selling yourself. Do visit our website for more details.

I checked with the Admission office, they said that current manager information is captured only for reference and the manager will not be contacted for any admission related matters.

Hello ThinkAdmit,

I am looking for professional critique on my ISB application essays. I have written the essays and I feel that they are meaningful, however I have trouble making them concise and determining whether they exactly hit the mark. So, I will be needing assistance in making my essays concise and more appealing.

I went through your services but I could find information on only your application review package. However, I applied to Bschools last year as well so I already have the CV and Rec Letters worked out by a consultant. Before signing up, I wanted to clarify a doubt. Do you offer feedback in terms of ascertaining whether the essay is meaningful ex ... look, this essay which you wrote is deviating off the point, so you need to change these areas and write more about what draws you to isb... so on. or do you strictly offer only grammatical feedback? I am more interested in the former type of feedback because I have worked with some consultants who offer only grammar feedback.

In summary, I need your help mainly in making my ISB essays more meaningful and concise. Could you please send me the price details for ISB?

Thank you.
