Congrats archie on such a great score. Can you please share your experience regarding the SC and CR questions you saw on the GMAT ? How close were they as compared to the questions in the OGs ?

I guess everybody's busy these days holidaying. I have not taken the GMAT .am just a fellow test taker but from what I have read on the forums here the questions in the OG are mostly in the 500-700 category on the GMAT in SC and CR. The difficult questions are towards the end of the SC and CR sections in the OG. So I think that the questions are not very representative, but there's a great amount of learning which can be done from those questions.

I have an admit from Rotman and UIUC(with a good scholarship). What is interesting is that I have performed well on the CAT and have got interview calls from a couple of Indian business schools as well. I was not even thinking that I would do well given the fact that the last two years I didn't do very well. II will be considering these options first but then there are grueling interviews to take care of! If I don't make through any Indian schools so will be going to UIUC :)

It seems like some people get everything and some others struggle for even one thing. Archie is a case in point for the first part and probably I for the second part! :-D Congrats Archie!

Hehe. Just must up some courage and be determined and you would also come in the first category. :)

That's great news. There would be really few people who would be so fortunate to get admits from phoren business schools as well as the desi ones. But I am assuming that UIUC and Rotman would have kept a deadline for the submission of the initial deposit, right ?And usually indian business schools dont release their results till April, so what will you do ?

Rightly said. I just wonder when I'd be able to move beyond the first hurdle-the GMAT. Seems like it's time to stop being a lazy bum and get my act together.

I'm going to pay the initial deposit either to UIUC/Rotman by the end of this week. It's around $1000 which is not a big amount. At least that will secure my admission and i can be sure that I'm going for an MBA somewhere or the other. After that once the indian business schools release their results, I can decide finally where I want to go.

I did not perform well on my first attempt and that's why I did not put a debrief here. I became quite anxious during the test. I have booked my slot for 11th May now and hopefully I should do better this time . Fingers crossed!

Hi ! Congrats for a spectacular score . What after that ? Where have you got admission ? I am B.Sc. ( Botany , Zoology , Chemistry ) & M.A ( History ). Have not done Math post matric . English is good but I do not know the level required for GMAT's English . Please guide me how should I begin & what should be my strategy for both the sections .

Warm regards !
