500 to 690, retake?
My first practice test was a whopping 500. First GMAT attempt - a 570. Second was a 580. I almost gave up. Just finished (about an hour ago) and scored a 690 but with a big quant/verbal split (59th pct quant/92nd pct verbal). I am a native-English speaker who suffers from tremendous test anxiety and...

Struggle with basics, nail the challenges
I seem to nail most of the more challenging quant problems (to an extent) but am stumped by seemingly silly arithmetic and number property questions. Any input on how I should address this? Thanks

Pre-mba or math courses for weak GMAT quant score?
Hey - I took the GMAT once and scored poorly on quant. I was told a course in mathematics as a refresher would help bolster my application package. My undergrad GPA (3.3) isn't too weak but could have and should have been stronger. I live in NYC and was wondering what appeals more to adcoms - specif...

would an MSRED help my MBA admissions chances?
Hello everyone, I'm shooting for a top-tier MBA. My first GMAT attempt was disastrous. I left the test center having learned a thing or two about how to study next time, not to mention a dent in my pride. That said, I plan to take the GMAT again but am looking for ways to round out the rest of my ap...

Professional References In Family Business
Any thoughts on what to submit in place of a "supervisor's" professional recommendation when you're working in a family business? I imagine they'd assume bias if your rec is signed by someone with the same last name...

money - thanks for the response. Dayne - I didn't study as much as I could (or more aptly, should) have. I had a week off of work and studied Sunday-Thurs all day/every day and took the GMAT on Friday. I also had taken some prep classes but didn't do as much of the required work as I should have. Wh...

The GMAT beat me - 570 Q33, V37
Interesting side note: I feel confident that my AWA will be a 5.5-6. That said, I felt great through the AWA section then hit the wall at Quant. I ran out of time on the section. Does anyone know how they score unanswered questions against you? I'd be interested to see how poor my performance really...

IMO it seems as if there's a missing variable that needs to be defined. You need to somehow derive the total number of students in the other class. Without that, the problem doesn't make much sense. If there are only 19 people in the other class the final percentile will be much different from if th...

I don't disagree however is it worth running the risk of not taking credit for it (and potentially coming off as being deceptive) when it's plausible that the NYU registrar shares resources between schools?

Is this accurate? I'm pretty sure that Stern's admissions site said that they require all transcripts of any courses taken in any capacity.money9111 wrote: Plus... if that's the only class you took from NYU SCPS then you don't have to submit that transcript if you don't want to. That way they won't see it.

NYU - How will they consider Continuing Ed performance?
I'm considering Stern and have taken classes at NYU SCPS (School of Continuing and Professional Studies) in the past. I performed pretty poorly in the class I took (Real Estate Finance I) due to unforseen work conflicts (this course met on Saturdays for 4 weeks). I ended up with a C. Will they consi...

Undergrad - 3 yrs work experience - next steps
I'm looking for a few opinions. I graduated from college in May of 2008 and began working almost immediately after that. I'm prepping for the GMAT now and I plan to take it May 21st (wish me luck). Given the highly competitive nature of the current applicant pool, would I be better suited to apply t...

How young is too young?
I'm considering applying for 2011 admittance. At that time, I'll be 25, approximately 2-4 years below the median age for most schools I'm applying to. I don't have any sort of exceptional experience other than traditional work/volunteerism. Any reason to wait longer given the current landscape of MB...
