How young is too young?

I'm considering applying for 2011 admittance. At that time, I'll be 25, approximately 2-4 years below the median age for most schools I'm applying to. I don't have any sort of exceptional experience other than traditional work/volunteerism. Any reason to wait longer given the current landscape of MBA applicants?

There is a trend in MBA education towards younger applicants - many of the top schools including Harvard and Stanford have in recent years admitted a higher percentage of "early career applicants" (as we refer to them) than in the past. I would encourage you to not focus on your age but the overall profile that you are trying to project. THAT is what will decide whether you apply this year or the next year. I would certainly not wait 3-4 years to apply - ROI is the greatest in early years.
