Hi Pranay,

Well, with the kind of profile you should target 690+ GMAT to get into ISB. Simultaneously, you need to work hard on your application essays and interviews, which are integral part of b-school admission and covers around 60%-65% on the entire b-school application process.

You can strengthen your profile by working as a team head (number doesn't matter) and demonstrate achievements at work place. Click https://bit.ly/XFiySs to know more about ISB essay analysis and interview preparation tips.

Let me know in case of further queries you might have.

Best,
Yash

as a Process Engineer in Technip India Ltd. working on various Oil & Gas, Refinery, LNG and Petrochemical Projects. I will have around 3 years experience when i intend to apply to ISB.

Some other of my activities are :-

1. Gold Medalist of Chemical Engg. Batch 2007-11 at NIT Jalandhar.
2. Served as the Placement Coordinator for my batch at NIT Jalandhar.
3. Member of the Academic Advisory Committee , Chemical Engg. , NIT Jalandhar.

Hi Lakshminarayanan,

It's a good move to plan your MBA after a year or so. As you have an avg. profile and low acads, I would strongly suggest you to aim for 700+ GMAT score. Also, work on team headship and strengthen your profile by demonstrating achievements at work place. You can always make into b-school, if you work on these three elements (high GMAT, team leadership & professional achievements).

Let me on case of other queries you might have.

Best,
Richa

Hi joshi.namrata123,

Based on the given information, I would suggest you to aim for 700+ GMAT and showcase management experience, ability to work with others, ability to contribute in the class, maturity, professionalism and other aptitudes in your application essays. If you are able to demonstrate these attributes in your application, then you would stand a chance in b-schools. You can try your chances for b-schools by clicking https://tinyurl.com/c6b6qcu

Feel free to post any other queries you might have. You can also PM your number to have a detail discussion on your profile and selection of b-schools.

Good Luck!!

Hi Saurabh,

A lot depends on what GMAT score you get ( you must have taken gmat by now). Your profile is a typical IT profile. Though your extra currics especially sports and your financial services knowledge may help if used well in essays but still a lot depends on your GMAT score.

We suggest that you GMAT score should be in excess of 720 to stand a chance of getting an interview call.

You can reply with your GMAT score in case you have taken GMAT.

Thanks

Hi Neel,

Unless you have a personal reason, we dont recommend waiting for another 3-4 years to apply to ISB.
Entrepreneurial experience, regular job experience, decent extra currics and good GMAT score can be sufficient to get an interview call.

So, we would recommend that you focus on getting a good GMAT score ( 730+) and take your time to work on that. You can apply next year and need not wait for 3 years.

Hi Vaibhav,

Undoubtedly, your profile looks really good. The diversity of work experience and extra currics make it strong. But 600/ 610 on GMAT may be too low. Take a couple of months more and try pushing your score to 650. If you can get there, we are pretty sure that you can get an interview call.
