Hi,

Your profile looks interesting and balanced. Your experience of working in pvt as well as public sector will differentiate you and BHEL experience will also get you some brownie points.

Your extra currics look pretty good too. Since you are good at writing we are sure that you will be able to do a good job at ISB essays as well. Just make sure that you answer "Why you" thing well.

The only thing that can weaken your chances is the GMAT score if you are not able to cross 700. ISB in ultra competitive and a score of 700 is sort of must for a profile like yours to stand decent chances.

Hi Atul,

We like your profile. Its balanced. Though you come from an IT background but the variation in work ex ( if used well) and the international experience can differentiate you.

Your extra currics really set you apart. Downplay the college web/ magazine team thing and focus on the sports achievements.

Dont worry abt your school percentages. GMAT score ( if you get a good one like 730+) can compensate for that.

Feel free to contact us for any queries.

Hi Nitika,

You need to add a lot of stuff as far as your profile is concerned.
At Infy, get into client facing roles, may be add onsite experience or move into presales/ business analyst role.

Target a 720+ on GMAT.

Add more stuff in extra currics. Built upon what you have done in the past. Take your music thing to the next level. Become a part of an active band etc.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sumanth,

Your profile looks good and well balanced. So, we would ask you to start working on the essays.

4 yrs of experience in equity research and engg fin is good and very few applicants from this kind of background apply to ISB. 710 is fine of not great. IIT brand will help.

Focus on carefully discussing the post MBA goals ( in financial domain) as there are very few fin jobs which come to ISB.

Your extra currics and also good and diverse.

So, hit the road now.

Hi,

Your profile looks decent but honestly with 2 years of IT experience and a 640 you will find it almost next to impossible to get an interview call from ISB. IT applicants have little to differentiate themselves and when the avg work experience and GMAT scores in this pool are 720 and 4-5 years respectively why should ISB call you for an interview.

Though you have mentioned your take on GMAT but we would still recommend retaking it. We would also recommend adding one more year of experience.

Feel free to contact us for any queries.

Hi Riddhi,

Your profile looks good because firstly there are not many applicants from advertising and marketing communications background who apply to ISB and secondly PG and your experience will help you differentiate yourself within that pool.

Your extra currics also look good. Make sure that in your essays you focus on your extra currics such as Placement cell work etc which complement the kind of work you have done at publishing houses/ newspapers.

Use the video well because a person with your kind of background should be able to come up with a good story on "Life to me is..."

Though with good essays and recos you can get an interview call even at 680 but would still recommend targeting 700+.

Take your time, focus on GMAT and apply in R2. Dont hurry up.

Hi,

There are number of good things in your.
Firstly IIT brand and 750 GMAT score will automatically put you ahead of the competition. Work experience also looks good since candidates from analyst kind of profile can easily move into financial services or consulting roles.

Your extra currics especially the college level activities can be used present your team and leadership skills so make sure you pick few but good examples instead of sweeping statements.

Use your music and dance thing ( as very few IIT applicants offer something like this) to show your passion to excel in non work or academia related things.

Your recomendaations can talk about your problem solving, analytical and client interaction skills.

We think you are good to go so get started with your essays and video.
