I struggled with CR a LOT. I would not get the concept for the longest time. What I did was the following:

Go through CR basics (PR is good for this)
Go through a few OG problems
Figure out your OG mistakes (if any). READ the explanation carefully
Go through more problems
Go through CR basics again if you are struggling again

It also helped me that I would write a) the type of question (weaken/strengthen) and b) a few key lines about the argument, I would also underline the conclusion. For weaken, I would try to think the OPPOSITE of conclusion... and go from there.

Keep doing more problems.. you'll "get it" soon enough :)

If you are struggling with CR find a good book on Logic on Amazon or somewhere they are exponentially more in depth than any review guides.

Hi,

i didnt post anthing for almost 15 days. i was busy for some days then i thought i have enough of all this and should stop wasting time so i registered for GMAT, will take on 28th April Inshallah.
===============================================
I gave Kaplan test II on 7 april and scored 520 :( :oops: with
Quant 18 correct 19 Incorrect scaled score 32
Verbal 19 correct 22 incorrect scaled score 23

Then i gave Princeton Cat I on 10 April and scored 650 :lol: :P bull shit it was so easy that sometimes i thought i was doing very poor and sometimes i thought i was missing something in Q's. and got some questions wrong taking them as difficult ones and try to solve them differenly 8) . anywayz

Quant 42 & Verbal 38 Scaled score 650.

===============================================

i have finished doing PS, DS & SC from OG10. IN PS & DS i did 70% - 80% right (did them in sets of 30 & 50 ) and in SC i did aroung 65% correct.

===============================================
for the next three days i'll be doing CR from OG10. lets see what happens.

i am hoping for 720 8) :twisted: but from my preparation i dont think i'll get pass 650 :( :cry: .

April 28 is coming up fast! Given your study strategy to date, I think you will need some more time to prepare to reach your goal of 720.

If you are reluctant to changing your date--you have to focus on staying consistent with your studies--devote a little time everyday, and work on systematically improving your weakenesses!

Best of luck to you, and nice seeing you back, zaffar!

Studying most every day

by GCHall840 » Thu Apr 12, 2007 8:24 pm
I started my online GMAT prep course on March 11. I would say that I did study almost non stop for the first week. I did all of the work that was assigned for the number properties guide, the sentence correction guide, and something from the critical reasoning guide. I did prepare myself well enough to do at least 75% of the Official Guide, problem solving questions, and all of the OG sentence correction and critical reasoning questions. So, after doing all of that work just in the first week, I realized that I had not given myself even one day off in the process. I might add that I don't work full time, but I do work enough hours in the week that doing that prep work as well, made me one very tired guy.
Since that time, I have spread things out a lot more where I am doing the work, but I am not pushing the envelope as much. I did get behind because some of the newer subjects seemed more difficult to me. I do try to keep the weekly assignments up to date. However, when I get behind, I come back to those things after I have done the next week's work. I make it a point to take one whole day off from studying. That way I don't get burned out.

Thankyou Eric for the wish.

i am studying almost 8 hrs a day for last 10 days :twisted: and its too tiring. :cry: but i have to do it. test on 28th,13 more days left, and so much to do. :P lets hope for the best.

i gave kaplan cat III today and score 550 :roll:
Quant:- correct 24 Incorrect 13 Scaled Score 38
Verbal:- Correct 20 Incorrect 20 Scaled Score 27
scaled Score 550 60 Percentile.

In quant i was a liitle slow in the start, questions were too confusing i think so. I have to guess last 4 Q's in 1 min :( and got 3 wrong .
In verbal i am too afraid of RC i cant read the passage as they all sucks. so i try to guess answers of them and got 7 of them wrong.

CR & SC in little difficult as compare to OG 10. any idea about it?

today i did around 120 CR from OG10. when i was starting my preparation it was the most difficult part for me but now i like or i love it 8) its fun to do them. there is one problem when i try to do 25 in 35 mins, it takes around 40 mins to do them. is it OK? and in times session i usually get 4/25 wrong. this is becoause i try to do it quickly and misread the question and sometime there is so difficult english used that i cant understand it and have to guess the answer :oops:

thankyou Bigtex and GCHall840 for your vritical analysis. but that plan was long ago and i cant follow that because of some family problems and oother reasons. and now i regret it because now i have to study 8-10 hrs per day to accomodate all that. but there was no choice.
anyways that was a good plan as far as i am concerned.
