a is wrong, a second as is required for proper comparison
b is awkward
c past partciple not required
d than is incorrect comparison
we say greater than ...more than... here as comparison is required


E correct usage-> "as remarkable as"

In all the five options we are comparing "medieval invention of playing cards" with "thousands of unique games"
Can we compare invention with games?

"Seemed to be" is the correct and Required Usage here.

B. No less remarkable than the medieval invention of playing cards

C. The concept that had been as remarkable as the medieval invention of playing cards

Past perfect tense indicates that the concept is no longer as remarkable

D. The medieval invention of playing cards has been nonetheless remarkable than

We can use "Was nonetheless remarkable" or "no less remarkable than", but not "nonetheless remarkable than". This usage is wrong.

E. Medieval invention of playing cards was just as remarkable as

Incorrect comparison.
X was as remarkable as are Y.

The correct answer is B
If the problem is Easy Respect it, if the problem is tough Attack it

I am not sure whether I am right or wrong but i think the best way to attack this question is to find out what is the subject.
the subject is in this case inverted.
are (verb)
the thousands upon thousands of unique games (subject)

2. rearrange the sentence
Subject + Verb + optional answer choice
For example:
the thousands upon thousands of unique games are "No less remarkable than the medieval invention of playing cards"

3.

You see that answer choice b is the only one that fits.

Upon reading the sentence, we can eliminate the "that are shared by a worldwide audience" as it is a adjective clause.
That leaves the sentence as,
What seemed as remarkable as the medieval invention of playing cards are the thousands upon thousands of unique games

A. What seemed as remarkable as the medieval invention of playing cards
Verb is "are" in the non-underlined section. Hence, Subject need to plural if this form is correct.
No clear subject here.

B. No less remarkable than the medieval invention of playing cards

Re arrange the sentence,
The thousands upon thousands of unique games are no less remarkable than the medieval invention of playing cards

This form is correct.

C. The concept that had been as remarkable as the medieval invention of playing cards. The concept are is incorrect. Idea is singular noun.

D. The medieval invention of playing cards has been nonetheless remarkable than
we have the verb "are" followed by "than" Hence incorrect. The complete sentence doesn't make sense.

E. Medieval invention of playing cards was just as remarkable as
X was as remarkable as Y.
X =>Medieval invention of playing cards
Y => ? "are the thousands upon thousands of unique games" Incorrect.
