Welcome Joseph, thanks for making that intro! You've come to the right place too, we have a lot of resources here to help you get to that 700 score. Since you mentioned INSEAD as one of your top schools--you may want to take a look at the INSEAD MBA Watch page when you have a moment: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/school/insead/a/comments

Hello All,

I am Muddassir (MD for Short). I have 6 years of work ex in IT handling supply chain. warehouse and operations Mgmt projects. I am looking forward to take the GMAT in next 2-3 months. I would prefer to join a 1 year MBA course that would also fetch me a good scholarship. Looks like I have landed at right place to get counselling and carry on with my research.

You will hear more from me in the coming days.

Cheers!!

Good Morning,

Good Afternoon,

Good Evening,

My name is Jamaal Hunt and I am currently a program specialist for a housing authority in MD. Right now I've made the big choice to change careers and obtain my MBA in accounting. A funny story happened to me while I was undergrad for Marketing. My Accounting professor noticed how well I was doing the courses and she asked me directly. "Would you be interested in changing your major, it seems you have a knack for this?" My exact line: "I dont want to crunch numbers for the rest of my life". Ironically, I currently do accounts payable and process transactions with a tax calculator for more than 3 years. :P

All jokes aside I really want to succeed and do very well. My GPA wasn't pretty in undergrad (less than 3.0). It is going to be tough and I am fully aware of this. So I must kick ass on this thing. I have no choice but to. I've read some of the strategies in preparing and practicing and I like the idea of getting up early to study before work and studying late after a workout.

Right now I have haven't started my research on schools yet. I do have a preference to stay locally in Maryland but if the opportunity knocks for me to attend one of the "premier" top schools. I wont say no at all.

As of now I have done alot of practicing math problems and suceeding very well thanks to a site called: khanacademy.org

That site is a great resource to get your math game down.

Anyway I'll be pretty much living in here posting alot so watch out. :D

Hi all

My name is Ama. I am a technical trainer (I train construction professionals on how to build more sustainably) working the the BRE in the UK. I have an honours degree in Environmental Management and am an Associate member of IEMA. I did not do as we'll first time round taking the GMAT with a score of 520, but I hope to improve on that next time.

I hope I did this intro thing well, I am not use to introducing myself in a forum. :? :?

Hi,

My name is shripriya. Moved to the US 6mnths ago and raring to get back to college. It's like getting back in action and achieving what I didn't earlier. Although i have a good 5yrs of work exp, my low UG gpa (like jamal's) compels me to beat-the-gmat and prove myself worthy of achieving whatever i want. It's tough studying w/o a tutor/coaching but i do hope this community keeps me occupied and gives me the classroom env i so so desire! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Lets do it!
