Hi all,
I wish everybody is happy wrapping up with the application.
However, I have a very specific question about what "Nature of Business" means.
Does that mean:
1) the nature of the enterprise itself, such as state-owned enterprise / foreign invested enterprise / joint ventures, etc, or
2) the nature of the my engagement with the enterprise, such as I am an employer or an intern, who did xyz? or
3) other meanings, please specify.
I appreciate any insight into this.
Thanks.
HBS 2+2(New)
For 'nature of business", i think it's just a brief description of what the firm does??
e.g. if it's Goldman Sachs, just say it's a financial services institution that provides xxx services ???
not sure...but that's what i did.
I have a quesiton about this part too.
So on the resume i put my jobs,
and then do I just repeat those jobs again on the "part-time employment" page????
Or are we supposed to put different jobs in the two parts?
Kind of confused..

Hi juyau800,
Thank you for the clarification.
Regarding the resume along with application forms, my understanding is that the HBS recognizes the limitation of the 1-page-resume, and therefore we can elaborate on any unspecified content covered in the resume. Repetition with the content of part-time employment is fine, but be sure to include new information in the application form. They supplement each other.
Hope it helps because that what I did.

You might also want to include what your particular business unit and group does. Everybody knows that Goldman Sachs is a financial services firm - but what goes on in Goldman's Special Situations Group might not be entirely clear. That's what I did anyway (I'm not at GS SSG this summer, but at a very similar firm).juyau800 wrote:For 'nature of business", i think it's just a brief description of what the firm does??

so guys do you think a 680 on gmat stands a good chance for hbs? My application otherwise is very good in my opinion (great essays, 3.86 gpa from a teir 1 liberal arts, strong leadership, volunteer, initiative, Highly strong math skills, and two great internship experiences). I dont know if 680 will break it.
Also, do you know if a 710 with q42 (62 percentile) and v46 (99 percentile) is better than a 680 with q49 (88 percentile) and v34 (70 percentile)?
Just curious...

If the rest of your story is particularly compelling, then it won't stand in your way to at least an interview (at least for last year's application volume--this year may turn out to be very high).
Are you a non-native English speaker or hard sciences major (eng, cs?) The score is also a bit more understandable that way as well.

The lowest GMAT score for someone who was admitted (this is an internet forum though, so could have been lying) in the thread from last year was 640 if memory serves.
On another note: is anyone in a position to determine how much more buzz there is around the 2+2 programme this year? Just thinking about application numbers..

I feel like this year there will be like +1500 people applying.........
i hope not of course...
but seriously...this is such an attractive program...as long as it's greatly publicized (sth they have already been doing), there must be lots of ppl who are interested.
it's just SUCH a good deal...

Hi Everyone,
Best of luck to all who are applying to 2+2. It has been a grueling process, but fortunately we're one day away from being done! As such, I believe it's time we start compiling some applicant profiles. Below is a convenient template.
Type of Student: (Domestic/International, male/female, minority?)
Undergrad Institution: (School or type of school, such as big state, lib arts, ivy, technical, foreign (what country?))
Major(s):
Minor(s):
Overall GPA:
Position in Class: (No numbers needed, but are you top? near top? average? struggling?)
GRE/GMAT Scores:
Q:
V:
W:
TOEFL Total: (if applicable)
Awards/Honors/Recognitions: (Within your school or outside?)
Pertinent Activities or Jobs:
Any Miscellaneous Accomplishments that Might Help:
