I didn't stumble upon this blog until this morning, but I just read every single post in utter relief that I'm not the only one obsessing about this.
In response to earlier posts asking for gender and citizenship information, I'm a female who goes to a Jesuit university in the United States. I'm a journalism major, and I'm guessing that I'm one of the few journalism majors who applied. Hopefully they are looking for us too!
Good luck to everyone who applied to this program, and just remember, if you don't get into 2+2, its not the end of the world. The nice thing about B-school is that we can work for a couple years, take the GMAT until we get the score we want and apply over and over again until someone relents and accepts us. At least, thats my take.
Again, good luck!

They are probably getting so many calls since all the 2+2 applicants are keeners to have applied this early in the first place, so our risk adversity makes us all curious and on-edge enough to ask a billion questions.
This thread should help reduce it a little though.
I didn't post my profile before. I'm a Canadian female studying International Business. My interests are more political so I'm hoping to do the MBA/MPP combo. I know they really weren't looking for business majors but I figured I'd try anyway. You have a 100% chance of not getting accepted if you never apply haha.
I suppose we'll all be watching our inboxes like hawks for the next week ;D

Everyone in this forum - a pack of rejects (I don't think so)
The profiles of a lot of candidates here are brilliant. In fact, in comparison my GMAT score and profile looks quite average.
However I guess its all about how you put pen to paper and how well the essays reflect you as an individual. I believe that holds the key. Painting an impressive picture of yourself in just 2000 words over 4 essays was definitely a difficult task for all. Anyway whats done is done, Its HBS's interpretation which counts.
Best of Luck.

The profiles of a few of the individuals posting are very conducive to gaining an interview (720+/3.99 GPA). Yesterday either wasn't the day, the interviewees selected are not a part of this group, or the group members selected haven't gotten around to posting their results.
At this point I would assert that it's more likely that Friday is the date than Monday. Also I think the majority of students will be informed at once. It takes time to load 600+ names into an e-mail list and make sure the right people get "we are pleased to inform you" e-mails while the rest receive "we regret to inform you" e-mails. Regardless it will most likely be later on this week.
This week is sure to be the week regardless.
Best of luck to all.

I was thinking this over the other day and we have a lot of vague stats for the program. I came up with at least one completely factual one. They grant interviews for the 18th-24th. So 7 days total. Each interview is 30 mins long. Assuming they work 8 hour days like most university employees, one of which is lunch. This means they can only give out a max of 98 interviews. 14 int/day x 7 days = 98 ints. We can figure a couple of other things off of this. Based on the idea that 600 applied from the earlier post, we would be looking at around 16% that get offered interviews. Then assuming they are looking to fill 50-90 spots, once a person gets an interview there is a better then 50% chance of acceptance. So really this is the biggest cut by far. Only around 8% of the total applicant pool will be cut post interview. Sorry to get like the Rain Man there, but I thought it would be good to throw out some relatively solid numbers.

i like that you're using actual numbers. however, there are two very likely alternate possibilities:nitra wrote:I was thinking this over the other day and we have a lot of vague stats for the program. 1- the max is 98 interviews per interviewer. they don't put you in a room with all of the admissions officers. therefore, just 6 admissions officers could interview every single applicant (assuming 600 apps).
2- since less than 90 people will be accepted, and maybe as few as 30 or 40 will be accepted, it is possible that fewer than 98 invitations will be given out (meaning the admissions officers don't spend all of 8 hours per day for 7 days interviewing applicants.)
i really think it is only possible to speculate at this point. i do agree that friday is the more likely day for invites though.
It seems as though several people have called the office to inquire about the exact date, each receiving varying answers. Personally, I don't see much sense in calling now, for it will be just one more added speculation to add to a growing list. Judging from what everyone is saying, at least some will be sent this week.

Go for it. Let us know what they tell you.java wrote:Given that we all agree that some invits would be sent out this week, it might be a good idea to ask the AdCom. They might now be in a position to give a specific answer which they might not have been in, earlier on.
