Looks like I need to look at US schools more closely. I received invites from Darden and Notre Dame and Kenan-Flagler to apply, and they stated that I am a 'priority candidate'. :/ I prefer to stay in Europe though, and think I will apply to US only if I don't get in anywhere this year...

Well as you might have noticed that INSEAD has already rejected my application, i am not sure how valuable my input would be.bln123 wrote:hk wrote: Target schools:

But for the benefit of all, here are the reasons why i think INSEAD rejected me:
1. My infamous GMAT score: I took my gmat 3 times and stayed adamantly on 640. INSEAD is a top b-school creeping into the top 5 b-schools in the world. So obviously they wouldn't want to go really low on the score. INSEAD's 80% range of gmat scores are between 640 and 710 so I guess i had a very small chance to start with.
2. Peer competition: I belong to the most competitive group of applicants. I'm an Indian and an engineer. And whats common with Indian applicants especially those applying to INSEAD is a ridiculously high GMAT score along with some international experience. I had the exp. but not the score. To top it all, INSEAD has a policy of not accepting more than 10% of the applicants from the same "group" (Geographic, professional, nationality etc.)
3. Lack of managerial experience at work: INSEAD's is a 10month program. This means that there is no time to actually learn from scratch. So given my background, i believe there might be better accomplished people for whom INSEAD would be an ideal bridge to advance.
4. I don't think my profile Pop'ed: One guy who got an interview call for fall 2010 intake was 30yrs old, 8 years at Mckinsey, triple citizenship and spoke 3 European languages other than English. So now you get my point?
Hope that helped in some way.
