If you're making $70-80K already, then I don't think it makes sense to go to business school unless you get into a top 15 program. If you're like me, making around $55K, any of the top 25-30 are a huge advantage, especially if you're switching fields. I'll be going to Georgetown (top 20), and with t...

Good grief! Since when is Cornell "slumming it up"?? Most people on this forum would LOVE to get into Cornell or UNC for that matter. Just my two cents.

Can I apply Early Action to multiple schools?
Hi Lisa, Can one apply to several schools EA? or will this be viewed as unethical and dishonest, since all schools say only apply EA if this is your top choice school? They all give an early deadline for a tuition deposit, so technically if I say no before then, I should be OK? correct? Thanks in ad...

Same exact thing happened to me. I got a 620 the first time, but I was nervous and not relaxed. I took it the second time and got a 700. I also made sure I took an afternoon test and not a morning exam. Going in there relaxed with nothing to lose is the best way to score high (provided you studied h...

Thanks Lisa, Your help is always appreciated. I have just one more question that relates to recommendations. I have told my recommenders to write a general letter that answers all of the questions that the different schools have posted. Do schools such as NYU or Columbia allow the recommender to upl...

Campus Visit Question
Hello Stacy/Lisa, I am planning on applying to a top ten school in early November for the Jan. 7th deadline. They will begin the review process after Jan. 7th. Will it be frowned upon if I visit the campus of this school after I apply but before the deadline? Will my visit be added to my application...

Bonus/Salary Question
Hi Lisa, I'm planning on applying to schools in November. If I expect a salary raise or bonus in December, is it better to wait until then to apply, or can I apply in November and then email the Admissions Committee in the weeks after about the change in my salary? Also, how big of a factor is salar...

Extra Curriculars Question
Hi Lisa, My extra curricular activity is a bit light. I held a leadership position in undergrad, and have volunteered in events here and there after graduation, but I haven't built a school in a village or something along those lines. My question is if traveling abroad, and philanthropy (financial s...

Just my opinion...assuming you have an decent GPA (3.4 - 3.6), you will be competitive for top ten schools, althought the big 3 will be a stretch (Harvard, Stanford, Wharton). You're right in the middle of the range for Chicago, Berkeley, Dartmouth, Kellogg, and Duke. With excellent essays and good ...

How does Ad Com view American minorities vs Internationals?
Hello, My question is how do admissions committees for the top schools view minorities who are US citizens in relationship with international applicants of the same ethnicity? If, for instance, you are an Indian (South Asian) American, will you be viewed in the same pool of international applicants ...

I wonder if this will affect how adcoms view international students and their super high scores...the scandal at Duke has only added to suspicions.
