different approach
i did this in a completely different approach and maybe just got lucky with the correct answer. I always approach math problems with Plugging in if at all possible. I look at 450y =N^3 and start thinking how I can possibly plug in. Well if the question was 450y=n^2 ... i would assume y= 2 and n = 30...

They tell you that an Arith. Sequence is when each term after the 1st must be equal to the sum of the preceding # plus a constant. try plugging in
it says X can't = 0 or 1
so plug in another # like 2
(2+1)^2 / (2-1)^2 = 9/1 = 9
now plug in (1/2+1)^2 / (1/2-1)^2 = (9/4) / (1/4) = 9 also
that means that the answer is the same as the original equation

Must be consecutive
-4,-2,0,2,4 are not consecutive. they skip numbers in between.
also N will always be odd, b/c you will always have zero as the median to get the the sum of consecutive numbers equal zero.
