water stored in State J reservoirs from
124 billion gallons to 138 billion
gallons. If the storm increased the
amount of water in the reservoirs to
82 percent of total capacity,

138 billion gallons = 82% of total capacity
X billion gallons = 100% capacity

138/X = 82/100
X = 168.AB

How many billion gallons of water were the reservoirs short of total capacity prior to the storm?
168.AB - 124 billion gallons ~44.AB billion gallons

138 billion gallons = 82% of capacity.
therefore 100% of the capacity = (138/82)*100 = (69/41)*100 ~ (70/40)*100 ~ 175 Billion gallons.

Approx Ans is 175-124 = 51. Ans is E
