family number of consecutive nights stay

l 6
b 8

five families stayed during 14 night period.If l family stay didnt overlap with b family, which of the14 nights could be on which only one of families stayed at hotel.

The answer should be between 1-4 or 11-14.Why ?

If l family's stay didnt overlap with b family's, then we have the following cases

Case 1:
J's Family stays in the hotel for the first 10 days, C's Family stays in the hotel for the first 5 days, and E's Family stays in the hotel for the first 8 days
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14
L-L-L-L-L-L-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B
J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J
C-C-C-C-C
E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E
So on days 11 to 14, the hotel could be occupied by only one family

Case 2:
J's Family stays in the hotel for the last 10 days, C's Family stays in the hotel for the last 5 days, and E's Family stays in the hotel for the last 8 days

Only option which lies between 1-4 or 11-14 is Option A
