Hai ALL;

Can any one explain me below ; i encounterd during practice ;

1.) Last year a certain bond with face value 5000 yielded 8 % of its face value in interest. IF that interest was approximately 6.5 of bond selling price .what is the selling price?

a) 4063
b) 5325
c) 5351
d) 6000
e) 6154
OA : E
2.) In a function f(a+b)=f(a)+f(b); for values a & b which of the following will satisfy?
a) f(x)=x^2
b) f(x)=x+1
c) f(x)=square root x
d) f(x)=2/x
e) f(x)=-3x
OA: E
3.) There are three different percentage of fat, x gallons of 1% , y gallons of 2% and z gallons of 3 % , all these are added x+y+z to form 1.5 % fat ; then express the equation x in terms of y&z
OA:Y+3Z
5000 yields 8% interest (or) yields 400 stocks.

Now given this 400 is 6.5% of selling price (or) (6.5/100)*X = 400

X ~ 6154 E

This one has been discussed several times in the forum. Easiest way is to know 1.5% can be formed using equal quantities of x(1%) and y(2%) with no z (or z=0)

Only x = y + 3z satisfies from the answer choice.. If you want a detailed explanation, refer https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2011/01/ ... c-problems
