Answer is B.

Stmt 1) 23<d<33
If d is 24
squares are 0,1,4,9,16 = 5

If d is 26
squares are 0,1,4,9,16,25.=6

Not sufficient.

Stmt 2) 27<d<37
If d is 28
squares are 0,1,4,9,16, 25

If d is 36
squares are 0,1,4,9,16,25.

Sufficient.
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)

I did not catch how B is sufficient when d is 36?

If d is 36
squares are 0,1,4,6,9,16,25. -->7 not 6 ?

It says HOW MANY PERFECT SQUARES ARE LESS THAN THE INTEGER d?
So,if d is 36, the exactly 6 perfect squares less than d..if it would have said, how many less than equal to d then this answer world be a different one.
So, B is the answer.

yes, 0 and 1 both are perfect squares :

source gmat club :

If x is an integer, what is the value of x ?

x^2 = x^3
x is both a perfect square and a perfect cube.

OA
Statement (1) by itself is insufficient. x can be 0 or 1.

Statement (2) by itself is insufficient. Perfect squares are integers 0, 1, 4, 9, 16, and so on. Similarly, perfect cubes are: 0, 1, 8, 27, 64... Thus x can be 0 or 1.

Statements (1) and (2) combined are insufficient. can still be 0 or 1. E
Cheers !!

Quant 47-Striving for 50
Verbal 34-Striving for 40
