What is the total number of workers who smoke in a group of 200 workers, in which 10 percent of the males smoke and 49 percent of the females smoke?

If F is the number of females, 49/100 * F, should be an Integer. For 49/100 * F to be an integer, F should be 100(as F<200).

If F = 100, the number of males = 100
Number of male smokers = 10/100 * 100 = 10
Number of female smokers = 49/100 * 100 = 49
Total number of smokers = 10+49 = 59.

haha, sorry, that was a silly mistake )))) deleted :)

actually, first I have solved it in the same way as u have written. but later i just tried to complicate everything, since I thought it should be more difficult ))
