hi dana,

1>
i am a non native speaker, from india, i prepared a month for gmat, got a decent score.
did not prepare for awa, still got a 5.5. I just went through MYHOMY'S template for a couple of hours. Do I still need to prepare for toefl writing ? (I was a good writer and orator in my school)

2>
og toefl ebook is available:
are the practice test real toefl like ? are they marked accurately like the gmat prep ? how do they mark the speaking section in that ?

I just wanna get a hold of what I am about to see on test day.
test on 12th feb
Cheers !!

1. You could use some templates for the TOEFL. Here's what I used: https://www.beatthegmat.com/writing-tips ... 51509.html

2. The practice tests are pretty reflective of the real thing. I really have no idea how they score the speaking section, so I can't answer that question!

I have already bookmarked your writing template :).

I would suggest the best place to practice toefl listening and speaking is youtube !! I have also posted another thread regarding the 6 different speaking questions, maybe you can have a look ? Might be useful for all :

I dont think I will invest much time in reading as I was good at the cruel GMAT passages(10 days back).
Cheers !!

hey Dana,
Sorry for bugging you again, regarding the experimental questions,
1>
I will either have an extended reading section(100 min) or an extended listening section(90 min), right ?

or maybe both ?

2>
also in the reading section, each passage is separately timed for 20 min,
Is this the case for the listening as well ? 10 min/unit ? does the 10 minute listening include the lecture+5 questions ?or 10 min only for the 5 questions ?
Cheers !!

1. Yes, you will have either an extra reading part or an extra listening part. However, I'm not sure if they'll be that long - more like 60 mins for reading in my case at least.

2. I honestly can't remember, but you can check out the official guide to the TOEFL. The exercises you see there are very similar to those on the real thing.

if one gets 5 rc passages then the reading section lasts a whooping 100 min,

also i dnt have the cd to the 2006 OG thats y cannot do the listening practice from it :(, i am using youtube instead. i think listening part comprises of a 4 min lecture + 6 min answering the questions.
Cheers !!
