All good points, and I really do agree with one thing mentioned above, all schools are not created equally, HBCU or otherwise after all isn't that why we all are trying to get into MLT to improve our chances at being accepted into a Top 20 MBA program? Not everyone is going to get into the program...it's competitive as is Bschool..so if two applicants are completely identical (which is impossible) Sarah Marshall went to Yale for undergrad and Jane Doe went to Bowie State, I'm sorry I'm picking Sarah Marshall. But being as two candidates will never be completely identical, id like to think it would never come to that. I'm certain that if I get into the MLT program it will be greatly attributed to the DC info session I attended, I was all ready to submit R1 but something told me to hold off and go to the session, It was truly life changing and I felt as if I finally understood what MLT was looking for, I went home that night and re wrote all my essays. So i feel pretty good about my chances, and if I don't get it, I'll be bummed for a bit, but I'll def pick myself up and "GET INTO BUSINESS SCHOOL"

This topic got so deep haha. I'll bring it back to intros. I started my career in Healthcare, actually wanted to be a Actuary like @mightyO but ish got too real. So I went the more business route, moved to the south, did Finance for 2 years and now on to a more Ops Research Role (all in the Airline industry). And now I'm trying to get my MBA to do who knows what. Thought about Management Consulting, maybe a more Ops/Supply Chain/ Research Leadership role. To be determined.

TripleD. Thats great to know. I was actually the only AA candidate to graduate with an Actuarial Science degree in my school in 5 years. It's hard and most black people just give up. So, I'm not sure how much a b-school takes into account an African American male with and 3.6 in actuarial science, but I hope they do 'cuz there was literally no support. I also did an MA in Econ at Duke, but missed that 700 mark on the GMAT, so I'm retaking it in two weeks. The road is tough...;-( What I will say is that people who go to certain HBCUs (Howard, Spellman, Moorehouse, Hampton) are in equally good shape as the Ivy folks 'cuz there are more of you as alumni of ML4T and top business schools. I've visited quite a few business schools and it was EXTREMELY RARE to meet an AA person who wasn't an ivy grad, MLT/CGSM alumni or a graduate of one of the special HBCUs.
