Kaplan is not the only course that caters to people seeking to score over 700. Certainly the Manhattan course has taken many people over that mark. The company that I teach for, Veritas, has about 1/3 of all of our students reach the 700 mark. So you have more options... Before you even join a course though, I think I can venture a couple of thoughts about the lower score you earned even though you felt comfortable throughout the test.

This may sound a little strange, but "feeling comfortable throughout the test" may not be a good thing. Of course, if you ending getting most questions right than it certainly is a good thing. But most people are not supposed to really feel comfortable throughout the exam!! The adaptive nature of the exam means that there should be some questions that stretch your skills and abilities. I was not there with you during the exam (not allowed by GMAC policy!) but I would suggest that you may have missed some of those questions that you knew how to do. Whether you made an assumption or answered the question the wrong way or any of several avoidable errors, each time you miss a question you should get correct it prevents you from getting the tougher questions that would stress you - but would also allow you to achieve the higher scores.

For whatever reason, you seem to have missed some questions that you knew how to do. If you can really solidify your strategies and techniques - especially the techniques to as I say "check yourself before you wreck yourself" (in other words quickly check for common mistakes before you answer) - then you can make your actual score consistent with or better than your practice scores.
