I'm thinking light gray (something like this? https://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/i ... ryID=39097) with a nice cami/shell underneath? I think girls have a little more leeway color wise and light gray is still considered "formal".

I wish I was a guy, it's almost like a uniform for them, but for us there's so many choices -- is this heel too high, is this one too low, pointy or rounded toe, can I do a bell sleeved suit, do I look to fashionable? Do I look too frumpy?

I see shopping in my future. Which... let's be honest... is never a bad thing.

To answer the question of what to wear is dauntingly difficult :roll: I guess I will go with the light grey too.

As for the preparations, I think meeting up with an HBS alum is a good idea; I am trying to arrange that. Wow it is really too exciting

Fortunately im interning at an IB at the moment, so I’ll just transfer my suit across. Unfortunately that gives me more time to worry about interview questions!

I’m struggling to keep my “Ah what the hell, lets just give it a wild shot” attitude that I had during the written application… the stakes just seem so much higher now.

Definitely! I'm going to do the morning tour and the lunch. Probably not the info session though, since I want to make sure I'm ready for my interview early (I didn't really think that one through before signing up). If I get there when I want to, I'm going to go to the info session on the Saturday.

Hey all, I've been reviewing this thread since about page 4, (I know I'm not the only guilty one out there, the thread has 22,000+ views) but have only just now gotten around to creating an account. I'm going to be interviewing Tuesday morning and I'm still thrilled and happy to have made the cut. Judging by the quality of profiles posted on this thread, there has to be to a considerable chance factor attached to interview offers as many of the candidates who did not receive invites were well above the mean GPA / GMAT (especially for normal admissions) reported last year. If my flights work out I plan on taking a tour Monday afternoon or at the very least exploring campus.

Anyways, I feel a little sheepish having followed the posts of others for so longer without adding anything of my own, so thank you all for contributing.
A few things that may interest people out there:

Judging by a quick overview of this thread (don't quote me) the mean GMAT of the applicant pool appears to be a 733 with a 3.71 GPA. Of those that have signaled interview offers the mean is a 748 with a 3.82 GPA. GRE scores were factored into these figures and probably would skew the set to a higher converted percentile rank. I think a better way of displaying relevant candidate information would be class ranking and University, but that data is unavailable. Another observation is that people who have received interviews are more likely to post (almost 3:1 by my count) which causes a data selection problem (i.e., the numbers here seem high compared to historical figures).

I noticed that there were 30 sign up slots for each of the 7 interview days. Assuming that the AdCom extended the maximum number of interviews this would suggest an interview offer rate of just under 24% (210 interviews for 887 applicants). 2+2 admitted 106 applicants last year. If they were to admit the same number this year the acceptance rate would be just over 50%, which correlates with the rate communicated by HBS’s website. Hopefully you guys found some of this interesting. It certainly speaks to the strength of the applicant pool.

I think ~210 is probably close to the number of interviews they offered. I think they will admit ~110 actually, though of course, it may be lower or higher (they said they'd admit 90 last year and took 106).

I also think the GMAT average in BTG is high since... well... we all came to a forum to "beat the GMAT."

I agree with myohmy on this. Plus we are hardly 20 guys here! Too small a sample size for any statistical analysis
Also I believe GMAT and Gpa are used more as cutoff scores rather than scores with weightage. I say this because I know guys with 800 on Gmat and 4.0 gpa who got a reject letter. So may be it would not be fair to read too much from these scores.

And the blog can have 22000 views with so less members, I myself refresh the page 100 times a day

Hmmm I read the HBS Guru thing.
So does that mean the adcom already has a group of "ready to admit" applicants (say, around 100) or a ranking of us???
It seems to me that interview is not that important. As long as we don't flunk it, we will be fine as the adcom cares most about our other app materials...

If the interview wasn't that important I don't think they'd waste a whole week doing them.

I think that a mediocre interview won't make or break you but a fantastic interview will push you into "accept" territory and a poor interview will push you into "reject" territory.
