I got an email saying that My Interview details will be mailed soon. Any tips on the interview ?

Also, i hear mixed views about IE - in spite of its good ratings. Any comments on the placements ?

well my interview with Karan was average .... well i cant really rate it, it was just an interview. He asked me questions straight out of my essays, and a few other questions like an explanation of my resume, and he wanted to know a little bit about what i currently do and how my career progression has been. he was curious and did question me a bit on my interests.

he said the admission committee would get back to me by mid jan, but i got a mail within 2 days confirming my admission for the nov 2011 batch.

well if you read education times every monday, you will see Karan Guptas column in the last page. he is a career counsellor by profession (https://www.karangupta.com/) but it appears that he does the interviews for IE. i dont have too many cribs about this process.

Im looking for an online group for the 2011 admits; lemme know if any of you come by one.

Satish, good luck to you for your interview, just remember to stick to what you have written in your essays. well IE it appears is a good school, i have spoken to a few of the Alumini. the placements in most B Schools happen very differently form what we see in India. The career services do organize career fairs on campus, but the good jobs come by way of networking and internships. This is as much as i am aware off, and the rankings do rate them highly.

Sharan, couple of my friends at cranfield SOM and lancaster warned me to recheck the news regarding some new work visa LAW to be introduced in uk and some more European countries. any news u hv on this ? its abt granting visa to international students only till they complete their education and not for work post that

Yes i did hear about this. But i thought this was applicable only to the UK. This is because of tremendous pressure from the public on the govt to reduce jobs from going to immigrants. Lemme look up the same for other EU countries.

hmmmm,,i think we need some more research on this, I had cranfield in my list, prepared essays as well, was about to start applications, looks like I will have to shred the essays.

well i think you should still apply for it, and discuss this with the admissions team there. surely they would be the most updated on it. i dont think this law has been passed yet.... seems to stem from a political strategy.

Thanks for the Tips. I had my interview with Karan yesterday. Most of the questions were from essays. He wanted to know about my IIT experience, work exp abroad etc. Also there were questions like whats the definition of a Team player and good leader in your view.

Went OK. I dont have much abroad Exp. Iam not sure if this will count against me. Let's see.

He said the Adcom will get back in 2-3 weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

yes i will be taking it up. Just working out the finances.

the chances are hard if you apply by april. however, saying that the seats mostly get filled by june/ july.
