Hi i just gave the gmat on 18th may 2012. I am looking forward to apply in any of the reputed B schools. But i am really disappointed by my score.

GMAT score 660. Quant 48 Verbal 32.

THis was my first attempt.

I have done my graduation in PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY (INDUSTRIAL/MECHANICAL Engg.) from Punjab Engg. College Chandigarh, India).

I currently have 4 years of work experience and will be 5 years when in join MBA in fall 2013.
I am currently working for Maruti Suzuki India Limited(India's No. 1 4 wheel automobile company) as a Maruti Suzuki After Sales Support Representative.

Currently looking after the customer complaint handing, resolution of technical problems, manpower training for both Domestic and Exports Dealers/Distributors of Maruti Suzuki.

I am working with a team of 4 members and i also have the responsibility of Training the freshers.

Kindly tell me what chances do i have to get thru some of the good B-Schools ??
What is the next step??? Should i rewrite my GMAT? What B-Schools to apply??

Hi Rjandial86 and thanks for your post.

I know it's frustrating to do not do as well as you expected on the exam. Before I suggest any action, however, I'd want to know whether or not this score was similar to what you achieved in pre-tests? Did you feel as if you were scoring much higher on practice exams? 660 is certainly not an ideal score for the most competitive programs, but in order to help you choose schools that might be a fit, I'd want to know more about what your long and short term goals are, what your undergraduate background and grades are, and also what interests you outside of work and your academics. In other words, the adcoms really review much more than just your GMAT score, and so these other factors in your background are also important!

Hi Deena,

Thank you for your reply. I was scoring around 690 in my GMAT preps. I got little disappointed becoz of quant. I have got good hold of quant but on the GMAT day i cudnt do well. Got just 48, i was expecting 50.
About my acads, i got 70% in graduation (in our college we didnt have grades, its percent)
and beyond dat, i have interest in sports... As u see my resume, i got some medals too during college and school time. and here now beyond job im working in an NGO too... there we teach unprivileged students. Help dem in deir studies financially and by teaching dem too. Den i am a member of "Society of manufacturing engineers".
My short term goal is to do MBA in marketing, as i love to travel and interact with more and more people. Gain experience, earn some money.
Long term goal - business of my own.
I hope this meet what u asked for. Kindly let me knw wat clgs i can apply to.
