B says that if routes are same from T to D... this means a person has choice between train and flight... and he should choose train as it takes less time and money...and route is the same...

There is no way to find whether a plane ticket is more expensive than a train ticket or vice-versa.

Also, the cost for most people in country D to travel to and from the station is about the same to that of travelling to and from an airport. This cost could be more for people travelling to and from a TS than for people travelling to and from an AP. (can't be certain)

choice B can't be correct because

the conclusion is talking about visitors travelling from country D to country T and not the other way round. (at least that's what I could decipher because the sentence got chopped after tr... so I assumed it were ''trains to'')

Hence, it does not matter what the route is on the way back as we are concerned with only a one-way journey.

Undoubtedly (at least for me) the answer choices should be between A and E as these are the only two answer choices which talk about cost.

Time saving argument is already established in the passage so we need not be concerned with it, but it is the cost saving argument which we need to establish.

I will not go for E - (not confidently though and here is why)

This is why I would go for E -

E states that the bonus points scheme will be discontinued. This undoubtedly will raise the cost of tickets per person. Earlier, passengers could claim bonus points and get a reduced fare for their trip which they won't be able to do now and hence the tickets will be more expensive for them.

This is why I am sceptical of E -

Reasoning is the same as in A - nowhere is it mentioned whether the train tickets are cheaper than plane tickets.

Agreed that there were benefits of bonus points but the extent of bonus points related price reduction is not established at all.

In fact I think D is the correct choice, so I would pick D

1) Time saving is established in the argument
2) In D cost savings are offered in the shape of added perks (more comfortable ride) which would probably cost more in a plane. Of course we are assuming that the prices of train tickets and plane tickets are comparable.

I think E is best.

The conclusion does not talk about the return journey.

All its saying is that to save time and money, travellers from country D should take the train to country T. (Does not mention the return journey).

So, I don't see how the time taken by the return journey strengthens the conclusion stated in the passage.

OA B
