The spatial relationships among the elements of Jan Micker's 1652 masterwork Bird's Eye View of Amsterdam, which he painted long before such a vantage point became possible, are much more subtle and intricate than they are in most other seventeenth-century Dutch paintings.

a. which he painted long before such a vantage point became possible, are much more subtle and intricate than they are in
b. painted by the artist long before such a vantage point was to become possible, are much more subtle and intricate than those among
c. which he painted long before the possibility of such a vantage point, are much more subtle and intricate than in
d. painted long before the possibility of such a vantage point, are much more subtle and intricate than they are in
e. painted long before such a vantage point became possible, are much more subtle and intricate than those in

I think its C

it doesn't get into "they", "those" in a, b, d, e --- which can refer to relationships or to the elements and can be a bit ambiguous....

I vote for D.

Not sure of the answer. Id guess E.

I eliminated B right off the bat for the "was to become possible" phrase.

I eliminated A & D for use of the word they, which sounds awkward. "the spatial relationships...are much more subtle and intricate than they are in..."

I chose E over C because I thought it sounded more concise.

IMO E.

Which refers to amsterdam. not to the masterwork.
AC Out

B uses "was to become possible" which is awkward.

D changes meaning. Also, "they" is subjective pronoun. We need an objective pronoun "those"

pick E

My vote for D (it requires subject pronoun...they);

It is E

A--"he" is orphan here...no antecedent........they is not clear......could point to relationships or to elements
B--can be eliminated easily because of "was to become"
C--"he" does not have any referent.
D--they is not clear......could point to relationships or to elements
E--good

And moreover, how can the spatial relationships of one particular painting be part of others???????? think about it

Vote for D.

OA Please .. [:)]

A -> he points to painter .. whereas painter's work is talked about not the painter .. so eliminate.
B-> Awkward
C->Same as A {the 'he' explanation}
D-> painted refers to paintings and not the painter, 'the possibility of such a vantage point' sounds accurate active voice, in 'are much more subtle and .. ' are correctly agrees with the subject - Thus D.
E -> 'such a vantage point became possible' I would prefer to avoid passive when active voice phrase is available.

Thus, D.

Expert's opinion please.

Cheers,

Pranay
