I'd go with C.

We need to use subjunctive here. Call/recommend/propose, hypothetical/proposed situations require it.

Success = Max(Hardwork) + Min(Luck)

IMO B.

To help pull Germany out of a recession.

It clearly tells that he wanted to help through his activity to pull Geramany out of a recession....

other choice indicate the Germany wanted to pull out of recession with the help given.....Wnated to pull...Who?

However, I am not sure if "A recession" or "the recession" may make/break a sentence. Would need expert help on this.

I am confused with the usage between to help pull Germany out of or to help Germany pull out of..........can anyone clarify on this part?

Hey - though I am not 100% sure about this i'll try to help you understand this.

Say for example I ask this question -- Aspirant2011 can you "help me pull John out of" the hotel room..

This sounds totally correct to me.. to pull john out of hotel room (.. for whatever reason

) ..I am asking for your help.

Hi GMAT Kiss,

Please read my explanation which I have written already:-->

These kind of sentences are really used in Spoken English.....[particularly on star movies:)]

See example given by SaketK.
See the condition below as well:-
If I ask help from my parents to come out of my debts which i am unable to pay I can say like this:--

"help me nullify my Debts"

I chose B over C because of the word spending in B over spend in C.

Moreover, I tried to analyze the difference between help pull West Germany out of a recession and help West Germany pull out of recession. I see both of them to be acceptable!

Anyways, the topic is still open to debate.
