Because an oversupply of computer chips has sent prices plunging, the manufacturer has announced that it will cut production by closing its factories for two days a month.
A. Because an oversupply of computer chips has sent prices plunging
B. Because of plunging prices for computer chips, which is due to an oversupply
C. Because computer chip prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply
D. Due to plunging computer chip prices from an oversupply
E. Due to an oversupply, with the result that computer chip prices have been sent plunging

B and C: Because and which both are explaining the reason...REDUNDANT

E: Due to, with the result of REDUNDANT

Could not decide between A and D.... if i am wrong in eliminating the other choices please correct me...Thanks...
It will help if you explain when to use .. BECAUSE OF, BECAUSE, DUE TO

On Sentence Correction questions, one of our goals is to express the meaning of the original sentence as clearly and directly as possible. If we can express an idea in fewer words, it is generally a good idea to do so. As a result, "because" is nearly always preferable to "due to." As for "because" vs "because of", we use "because" when we have a dependent clause. In choice A, we have a subject (oversupply) and a verb (has sent), so it works. With "because of," we only need a noun.

I also think A is a is a bit more active and direct in meaning: the oversupply sent prices plunging. D says that prices plunged from an oversupply..

Is it in A its more like active voice and D a passive way of saying?....manufacturer announcement came because of falling prices, and the falling prices are because of oversupply...so we need to keep these things in a proper sequence... Is this correct?????... thanks

Ron said that "due to" can be replaced by "caused by". If we can not replace, "due to" is wrong.

So, D and E are out.

is my thinking correct? pls, comment.
