I was just wondering why the use of enough that is not correct....I think its a correct idiom...and moreover I think E is grammatically correct but D wins over E on conciseness... Can anyone please confirm it... and let me know if i am missing anything

The original sentence is a run-on sentence. As you read it, you can realize that something is missing. The sentence starts with 'although' and then ends... It is not clear 'Although X'- what happened afterward. That is why A, B and C should be discarded (they all have almost the same ending concept).

Look at D and E and realize that they both have 'demonstrably weak' which means that you take that as correct. All I want to say is that you don't need to go into further analysis whether the adverb 'demonstrably' is correct or not.
Look simultaneously at the endings of both D and E and try to see the difference. You will recognize that they differ due to idiomatic issue. Read it over again.

AC D uses 'so X as to Y'
AC E uses 'Not X bla bla bla'

Drop the 'bla, bla, bla'. Select D.

If you find this idiom new, take a post-it note, write it down and repeat and memorize it together with some other idioms (from today's SC study session) at the end of the day. Next time, it will take you less the 5 seconds to discern 'so X as to Y' when you spot it in the answer choices.
