Good Afternoon,
I know this is off topic, but I am curious about how you formatted your application timeline.
I myself am taking this exam in late September 2010. I was told that I should allow my applications to go to Round 2. What is your opinion on that? Did you apply in Rd 1?
Thanks !

Hi,
I have a problem understanding Indistinguishable events in the flashcards on pg. 55. Could you please explain what you mean by "divide the factorial of the items in the set by the product of the factorials
of the number of indistinguishable elements." Thanks.

I highly recommend OG12, but I also think it's smart to get some additional books for supplemental review and practice. Here are some study plans to check out that provide a list of books: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/how-to-g ... n-the-gmat
Also, check out the 60-Day Study Guide, which walks you through a day-to-day path for preparing for the GMAT: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide
Good luck!

I dont think Eric would mind If I address this query hereezzi_j wrote:Hi,

Suppose the question is what is the number of ways of arranging the letters in the word "APPLE"
Total number of items = 5
How many occurences of each are present?
A-1
P-2 [Both P's are indistinguishable]
L-1
E-1
Hence number of ways of arranging, as per the rule above is
= 5!/2! = 60
Lets look at a bit difficult one:
Number of ways of arranging letters in "Mississippi"
Total = 11
Occurences are:
M-1
I-4
S-4
P-2
Hence number of ways = 11!/(4!*4!*2!)
Hope this helps!!

As for anything related to the GMAT, practice makes perfect when it comes to CR. After you do a lot of problems you well get a feel for the patterns and question types that ETS loves to test. In my actual exam, I found that ETS was particularly fond of strengthen/weaken questions.
Could you help me out in identifying the patterns in CR; if possible plz explain the strategy for pattern identification in CR?
Hey Eric,
Do you think the GMATPrep practice exams through mba.com are a good assessment of how I will do on the actual GMAT? I took a course through Kaplan and took all of their practice exams and found myself doing better on those exams than the two GMATPrep exams..
Thanks!

I no longer think the OG is the bible for quants for the gmat
with the manhattan guides and OG 11 and 12 I did the problems over and over and once I got to the test most of the problems were tricker and different than the og
