Thumbs up to you pushkal. You're a true fighter. I remember the first interaction we had here was when you asked me to evaluate your AWA when you're preparing for the first attempt.I was a little disappointed with your second attempt's score but here you are back with a 7 digit score. Congrats and hugs! :)
You are one of the few persons with whom I shared my pain on the 30th of July earlier this year. When that 680 had popped up on the screen my heart sank real bad. I had lost my 11 year old sweetheart, my doggie, Ronnnie, 2 weeks before the test on 30th July and then this GMAT debacle. I cant express how difficult were those days. Pheww !! Perseverance finally paid off yesterday.

And Ya, I remember your post on my first thread in which I stupidly asked what to study in quant, and you had recommended MGMAT cats. :P. I had already booked a date and was yet to start studying, just around 30 days to test day  . And then the next thing I did was to torture you by requesting you to analyse my AWA's.

Thanks for being there with me all through this 10 month long GMAT journey. You are the most inspirational member on BTG and an example for most of us.
Cheers !!

Hearty congratulations Pushkal. Its a hard earned score!!

You wont believe I have been looking around on I just beat forums for your success story for quite some time now.
I read every bit of what you wrote and trust me, the way you regrouped yourself after the second attempt is really amazing.
No time to relax for you now, buckle up. Going thru the app process myself, i can vouch gmat prep is the best part of mba journey.

Good luck.

congratulations on your achievement. I have been looking through your threads several times since April/11. Below I copied pasted text which suggests that you have voluntarily refused from memorization strategy to be used for CR by spotting similarity between OG and Knewton CR entries, but incidentally you decided not to improve further in CR. You must have missed good 20-30 points there. Never-mind, you are in 80+ percentile for both quant and verbal sections.

best of luck with 2012-2013 graduate admission process
bblast wrote: With all the weaklinks I have highlighted above I started prepping one last time for gmat. I found a new friend on this journey, knewton. ... Overall the SC/RC/Quant were good. CR's were poor as most of them are just bad bad OG copies. Someone who has been thorough the OG can easily spot the answers because of the similarity.

Rest was routine. I did not study RC/CR's as I was already very good at it.

@ prateek - most welcome with any damn smallest query U may have. I think I know most things about the test and the prep sources by now.

@ pemdas - Sorry I did not get the point which you tried to highlight in the post above. :(. maybe its the booze . :P actually I was badly disadvantaged in one domain in GMAT preparation. I have a very sharp memory. So I could not reuse the OG - CR/RC for practice. I remember most questions once I see them. You will be amazed to know that I jotted down several questions from my GMAT quant attempt on the 30th of JUly. And I had erred on 3 of those questions. I remember many questions from my attempt yesterday. Obviously I dont remember anything from verbal, stuff but much of the quant. Of course I wont share them but just a thought.

Something I would like to agree on is that yes, I did lose -20-30 points on CR. I did not touch CR's last month {as is evident from my excelsheet} and was stumped by at least 5 questions yesterday.
Cheers !!

Here you go! An epitome of perseverance, sacrifice and dedication. We really had a great time in the past few months. Great stuff mate although a bit disappointed that you didn't get your desired Quant 50. Never mind, I am sure your score is good enough for the Univs you are aiming for.
Congrats on your score and good luck with your Apps!!
Cheers!

Haha. Yeah, BTG has been an amazing thing. Though I don't post very often now, but I visit it almost everyday. There's a huge repository of knowledge here even after you're done with your GMAT. I think that now Rohu has decided to go to SPJain, she isn't gonna be active anymore(not that I blame her). We'll lose one member in our collective journey to the revered portals of the world. And thanks for the compliment but I'm not really sure how have I inspired people here. :-D

Hey Franco - Thanks for responding to all my PM's bugging u with my quant doubts  . You are truly a math genius. Consider approaching Eric Bahn to pay you for the quant posts you make here. :P
And a very thank you for the kind words above.

You certainly have been one for me :). And the info and discussions in ur debrief are more useful than in any other. The RC-99 is a "badly finished" book. I did 85 passages from it only because you had recommended it. Today I can say that though the overall questions setup in the book is not good, still the passages are a real tool to learn and discern info from difficult convoluted high level passages. However, this book is not to be used too close to the GMAT exam, use only in the early stages to improve reading, and forget the accuracy.
Cheers !!
