Zydol capsule

4. One Zydol capsule contains twice the pain
reliever found in regular aspirin. A consumer will
have to take two aspirin in order to get the relief
provided by one Zydol. And since a bottle of
Zydol costs the same as a bottle of regular
aspirin, consumers can be expected to switch to
Zydol.
Which of the following, if true, would most
weaken the argument that consumers will be
discontinuing the use of regular aspirin and
switching to Zydol?
(A) A regular bottle of aspirin contains more
than twice as many capsules as does a
bottle of Zydol.
(B) The pain reliever in Zydol is essentially the
same pain reliever found in regular aspirin.
(C) Some headache sufferers experience a
brief period of dizziness shortly after
taking Zydol but not after taking regular
aspirin.
(D) Neither regular aspirin nor Zydol is as
effective in the relief of serious pain as
are drugs available only by prescription.
(E) A Zydol capsule is twice as large as the
average aspirin.

A is one good reason why the patients can stick to aspirin rather than switching to zydol.

b- strengthens the switch to zydol.

would go for A

A. 1 zydol=2 aspirins. if a regular bottle of aspirin costs more than twice as many capsules as a zydol bottle, a bottle of aspirin offers more value for money and therefore an aspirin bottle is a more attractive buy. customers would want to stick to aspirin

B. doesnt affect the conclusion. cant say if the consumers will switch to zydol or stick to aspirin

C. tempting, but it says 'some' customers are adversely affected by zydol. it could be anything from 1 consumer to all consumers.

D. doesnt weaken the case for zydol.

E. doesnt weaken the case for zydol.

(A)A regular bottle of aspirin contains more
than twice as many capsules as does a
bottle of Zydol. – The cost of one bottle of Aspirin and that of Zydol is same. Power of 1 Z = 2 A. Suppose, the number of capsules per bottle of Zydol is x. Then the number of capsules per bottle of Aspirin is 2x. Therefore, in terms of power, 1 bottle of Z (2Ax) is equal to 1 bottle of A (A 2x). To conclude, in terms of effective cost both are same.

(B)The pain reliever in Zydol is essentially the
same pain reliever found in regular aspirin. – Strengthens the argument.
(C)Some headache sufferers experience a
brief period of dizziness shortly after
taking Zydol but not after taking regular
aspirin. – This option gives are reason for not to use Zydol. IMO answer.
(D)Neither regular aspirin nor Zydol is as
effective in the relief of serious pain as
are drugs available only by prescription. – Irrelevant.

average aspirin. – The size can impact the number of tablets per bottle only when the size of the bottles are given.

A - according to A (more than twice as many) - Aspirin is (2x+ (a few or more))

C - is a heartstring, dizziness maybe not the factor which prevents from saving on drugs

IMO A

Since One Zydol capsule contains twice the pain
reliever found in regular aspirin created favor for Zydol which was negated by A. While in C is the keyword.

Thanks for responses guys. The OA is indeed A, however I still am not sure why C is out of the picture. Is it not a factor that people have headaches after taking Zydol a possibly weakening theory.
