Yale SOM verdict?

Hi community,

I'd like to solicit your feedback, opinions and personal experience with regard to Yale SOM.

I'm looking to apply there and I hear really mixed reviews about the program and am frankly unsure what to make of it all.

What I hear about the Pros:

1. Very global program with a strong international focus
2. Very strong 'Yale' brand name
3. Good options to flexibly take courses from the rest of the Uni
4. Quality faculty
5. Up and coming school, lots of investments being drawn in
6. Dean Snyder has an impeccable record

What I hear about the Cons:

1. Not very highly ranked in any of the rankings (other than this year's FT, which placed it at #10 to the surprise of the Poets & Quants community)
2. Not a great record on placements
3. Current MBAs seem to dismiss it as being a #15-20 school and no higher - which would be risky considering the financial investment involved on my part.

Would anyone be able to provide any insights or shape up these seemingly disparate takes on the SOM?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Arnav
