my question is - how to check COMBINATion test faster ?> POE is time taking , short way out ???

The CRITICAL POINTS are 0 and 1.
If x=y=0 or x=y=1, then x² = y³ and x³ = y�.
Thus, we should test values BETWEEN 0 and 1.

If x=1/2 and y=1/3, both statements are satisfied.
In this case, x>y.

If x=1/4 and y=1/3, both statements are satisfied.
In this case, x<y.

Thus, the two statements combined are INSUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is E.
