If anyone has been following my threads, I have been seriously struggling with the GMAT for the past 6 months.

I have taken 4 mgmat exams and the results were very bad:

quant: range from 22 to 26.
verbal: range from 26 to 30.
Total score was 420 to 470.

I took the 5th mgmat exam and lo and behold:

650(Q43, V36). wft?? All the questions were different, so it wasn't the case of me memorizing answers.

Timing wise, I did a lot better in the math, and I certainly felt better on the verbal.

Is this luck? Most likely.....but at least, I know that a high score is somehow possible one way or another. And If I study hard, I will get the score i deserve, either through my skill, or the GMAT gods are watching over me.

This just gives me more hope and more motivation to study harder.

6 months is a wicked long time to study for this test. Make sure you haven't given it more power than it deserves.

I'd recommend you speak to one of the MGMAT folks to have them review your test, to see what has happened. (I don't know if MGMAT offers this service - - we do, but we're a more specialized education company committed to individualized attention.)

I'd also recommend you take official tests onward, from the OG and on GMAC. These are the most accurate indication of your performance on real GMAT tests.

It's great to get motivation and inspiration wherever you can get it...and it is very possible to improve 200 points: we see it all the time. However, look at where you improved (on question types) and learn from your CORRECT as well as INCORRECT answers. Knowledge is power.

why do not you try giving one GMAT Prep test. It will clarify your most of doubts.

update

update: so today, I sucked it up and took the first practice GMAC exam.

results:

530(V34, Q 28).

It was probably pure luck on the 42Q I got on the mgmat.

still a pretty bad score, but at least it wasn't as bad as I thought. will continue studying until may 2nd (test day), and see what happens.
