I wanted to get the opinion of the people from this forum. I was planning on starting to study for the GMAT beginning in July for an early October test date. I noticed, however, that the OG 12 for verbal and quant is scheduled to be released in mid and late August respectively. That being said, do you think it would be worth it to delay starting to study for the GMAT in August to be able to utilize these books? Or should I maybe just incorporate these books into my study plan when they come out in August?

I am not planning on applying until 2011 so I do have some time, but I have a lot of down time in my life coming in the second half of this year so this would be the optimal time for me to begin GMAT prep.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

It seems that using your available time now to study would be wise. There are many good resources that can help you prepare. Incorporating the OG books into your ongoing study seems best.

Yeah, I agree - don't postpone studying just to wait for the supplements. In the meantime, since you have lots of time before you need to take the test, you should work on fundamentals. Review your high school math, start reading more, etc. That way, when you do get the new OGs, you'll be ready to roll.
