Hi man,
Work problems --> ratios

One machine takes X hours to finishh the task and the other one takes 3/4*X to finish the same task. Together, they finish it in 6 hours so we can write:
1 / X + 1 /( (3/4)*X ) = 1/6

Solve this equation and you get X=14
