Work Exp

by mastahan » Thu Oct 05, 2006 8:32 am
HI Stacy

the admissions application ask for all work exp from college to now. i have worked a lot of retail positions throughout college that entails jobs such as being a stock boy or working the cashier. Do you think I should not put these jobs down and just put experiences more relevent to what I am doing now, which is engineeering. When i look back on these jobs just reading what I needed to do just makes me laugh and I wonder if putting them down will make the adcom not take my resume seriously.

thanks

mh

It really depends on the school and how many slots they give you for your experience. If they give you room and they are asking for full and part time including during college, you should include it. This will help them see that you were balancing a lot with your studeies, and helping to fund your education, which is an accomplishment even if the work was not particularly stimulating.

Hey Stacy,

I am going to do my praktikum(internship) in Deutsche Bank or Deutsche Boerse. Will it help me to increase my chance?

This depends on what you do with the internship. It's all about the quality of the work that you do.
