A. (p + 1)/2
B. (p - 1)/2
C. (p/2) + 1
D. p – ½
E. p/2

The quickest strategy would be to try a number for p.
Let's say there are a total of 3 pieces performed (p=3)
So, the order would be (choral)(orchestral)(choral)
We know that when p=3, we have 2 choral pieces
Now plug in 3 for p in each of the answer choices and see which one yields 2 choral pieces.
Only answer choice A yields 2 when we plug in p=3
