all of you, especially the GMAT Instructors have surely gone over this Reading passage multiple times. Thus, I am not going to talk about how difficult it is, ask what the difficulty level is etc.
No. I would much more prefer to discuss with you, why is this passage so tough and almost impossible (let's be honest no one has done more than 5 out of 7 in his first attempt, if he or she is not an instructor).
I ask about the reason the text is so difficult in order to know what to concentrate on. In my opinion the text is tough because of 2 reasons:
1. It requires exactly the opposite strategy that every single book or article has taught you. It requires understanding the details in your first read and giving up on skimming strategiest etc. If someone does not agree with this statement, well the questions themselves show that if you havent undrstood the details you will have to do a RE-READ on almost every question.
2. It combines somehow very twisty text with somehow strange questions. So you have relatively difficult text and pretty tough questions on it.
Please, share your opinion with me. I really appreciate your thoughts on that subject. Again, we only discuss the reasons behind the toughness of the passage, not whining about how impossible the text is.

P.S. One important thing that remaing unnoticed in any forums I have read on this topic so far is that the text would only have 3, maximum 4 questions attached to it, if it were on the real Exam. So even if you get 1 or 2 right, this is stil a pretty decent result for such a level.
