Hi there!
I'm currently working for a consulting firm where I've steadily progressed over the past three years or so, and I'm thinking of applying to B-schools during the Fall of 2014.
I just got an offer to move to a new city to work with a different manager on a slightly different line of business. While that sounded attractive initially, I also realized that by the time I prepare my B-school applications later in the year, I will have spent less than a year in this new position, which is not much of an experience.
Any thoughts on whether this move would hurt my application strength? Would I be better off just sticking to my current post until the end of this year, when I can talk about everything that I've done in my current role? I know there are other non-MBA factors to consider when deciding whether to make the move or not, but I'm going to evaluate those separately.
Thanks!
