Whorfian tubules have an inside diameter equal to their length, a density half that of water, and a mass that is immeasurably small. A physicist isolated an entity less dense than water, with insufficient mass to measure, and a length exactly equal to the diameter of its inside.

It would be certain that the physicist had isolated a Whorfian tubule if it were concluded by the physicist that

a)the physicist had been looking specifically for Whorfian tubules

b)Whorfian tubules are the only entities of immeasurably small mass with an inside diameter equal to their length

c)the density of what he had isolated was exactly half that of water

d)Whorfian tubules are only found under the conditions that the physicist had duplicated

e)Whorfian tubules were the only entities half the density of water with an immeasurably small mass

Found this very tricky...

Firstly, the physicist needs to establish that the density of the entity is half of water. The question stem says that the entity is less than water .

Even if he /she were to determine the relative density to water , the physicist would then need to be sure that the tubules are the only entities which match the specifications because

All Entity X have properties 1, 2, & 3 doesnt mean that all entities having properties 1,2 & 3 are entity X...

Anyways..My Pick is B because the statement says "Whorfian tubules are the only entities of immeasurably small mass with an inside diameter equal to their length" and he has established that the entity that he has located fits the description

IMO C here

As per the passage very important thing is density of WT is half that of water. A physicist isolated an entity less dense than water

Other than that everything things are same

b)Whorfian tubules are the only entities of immeasurably small mass with an inside diameter equal to their length - we don't know whether 'Whorfian tubules are the only entities of immeasurably small mass' from the passage

c)the density of what he had isolated was exactly half that of water - yes we need this to determine if that entity is WT

d)Whorfian tubules are only found under the conditions that the physicist had duplicated - What if any other entity can also be found

e)Whorfian tubules were the only entities half the density of water with an immeasurably small mass - Ok if this is true we don't know whether the entity what physicist caught is has density exactly half that of water?
