we need to find the OBJECT,X, in a noun clause



A. the idea of the necessity of honesty and trust in a relationship

No auxiliary verb

B. the idea that honesty and trust are necessary in a relationship

C. honesty and trust are not necessary in a relationship

D. the idea that honesty and trust is necessary to a relationship

E. the necessity of honest and trust to a relationship

I might be wrong here. I am not confident with my logic :oops:

Look at B and D eliminating the Subodinate clause " If...is right"

B and D repeat that again..

whats wrong with that

can you pls show me some gmat eg where that option has been negated

so this sentence

i declare that the council that takes care of people be banned.

agree that honesty and trust is singular , which can be the reason for eliminating B

But i don't go with you on subordinate in subordinate

In such a format "X" must be an object and not a clause IMO

so, dont hardwire that "clause" is incorrect

I little confused over B and C

B: One critic wrote that the idea that honesty and trust are necessary in a relationship is fundamentally wrong.

THE IDEA is fundamentally wrong. => CORRECT

C: One critic wrote that honesty and trust are not necessary in a relationship is fundamentally wrong.

One critic wrote is fundamentally wrong. => INCORRECT

This way, I tried to understand it. Is my understanding is correct?
I believe that it is correct.
