The strength of the political advertisement lies not in the candidate's speech but in the portrayal of stories of daily life in the city with positive embellishments thatinspire a sense of honor and dignity within the average viewer.

(A) portrayal of stories of daily life in the city with positive embellishments that

(B) fact that it portrays stories of daily life in the city as having positive embellishments that

(C) fact that it portrays stories of daily life in the city, whose positive embellishments

(D) portrayal of stories of daily life in the city, which have positive embellishments and thus

(E) portrayal of stories of daily life in the city, whose positive embellishments

WHAT DOES WHICH HAVE DEFINE - WHEN WHICH IS PART OF THE SENTENCE WHICH PART OF THE SENTCE SHOULD IT REFER TO
WHY IS D WRONG

D has subject verb agreement error.

However, can someone elaborate on differences between A ( city with positive embellishments) and E (city, whose positive) .

A tip for a tip
in the city, whose positive embellishments
whose is none essential modifier . The sentence should be able to stand without the modifier . There is no way we can tell which city is described in the sentence
Now tell me what does `with positive embellishments ... `modify ?

D is wrong because which refers to the closest noun i.e city and the verb should have been has instead of have

Does with positive ... modify city or stories or portrayal . What is the intended meaning of the sentence . It doesnt make for city to have positive embellishments .Then why is the with modifier next to city . It should be close to stories or portrayal
