Despite the legal arguments of Robert and me is better.
Just remove Robert from the phrase and check how it sounds.
Despit the legal arguments of I sound awkward.

not sure which one is correct.

What about mine :

Despite the legal arguments of Robert and mine, the zoning board had approved the new housing project before it adjourned.

I don't think mine would be correct...

Despite the legal arguments OF Robert and me, the zoning board had approved the new housing project before it adjourned.

mine is in possessive case and we already have the possessive sense expressed by OF phrase...legal arguments OF X and me...Robert and me combined is the object of the preposition OF...So, I would be incorrect...
Me is fine...
