Hi Everyone,
I have dreamed of being an entrepreneur my entire life. I am most interested in starting a cafe which I hope to eventually franchise and also foraying into real estate redevelopment. Coming from a family where everyone is either a doctor or a lawyer, I'm not getting much support from them and I'm trying to navigate the b-school process on my own.
Here are my specs:
1. Undergraduate GPA: 3.**
2. Social Sciences major
3. Work experience at a small start up
4. Haven't taken the GMAT yet
I feel like in my 2 short years here at this job, I have already hit the glass ceiling. I don't feel like I am growing or challenging myself so I need a way out.
My dream is to attend a school that has a strong focus on entrepreneurship, has real estate development electives, and offers an excellent study abroad program. I would like to get my MBA since my undergraduate degree did not provide me with any business knowledge whatsoever and it was difficult get into any of the courses at our b-school.
I have been looking at Columbia's program as a good match for me. I am also thinking about NYU Stern , Harvard, and the Wharton school. I am just worried that with my low GPA I will not be competitive enough for those schools.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated or if you know of any MBA Programs offering entrepreneurship/real estate concentrations, please let me know. I bought a GMAT study guide and started looking at essays, but I'm already stressed out. I have no idea where to start.
